Job Description:

This Senior Manager will be responsible for supporting OSFI Capital reporting for Wholesale Bank and Business Banking, managing relationships with the business and key stakeholders to influence change and improve OSFI Capital Reporting processes. This includes presenting capital results and value-added information enabling senior business leaders to make informed and critical business decisions on capital. The Senior Manager will also be responsible for supporting the execution and implementation of regulatory changes. In addition, the Senior Manager will work closely with the other TDS Capital Reporting senior managers to gather business requirements and reengineer business processes where necessary.
  • Lead a team in completion of monthly/quarterly capital reporting for TDS BCAR specifically oversee TDS loan portfolios and securitization.
  • Oversees daily monitoring holdings of TLAC instruments and working with TDS Finance and key stakeholders.
  • Lead a team in the completion of monthly/quarter capital reporting for the Business Banking segment.
  • Collaborate with other TDS Capital Reporting senior managers, other LoBs, technology partners, the business and other relevant stakeholders to ensure OSFI regulatory rules are well understood/interpreted and calculation assumptions accurately capture business rationale.
  • Work closely with other TDS Capital Reporting senior managers to provide meaningful reporting/analysis to influence business behavior, strategic decision making and optimal balance sheet usage.
  • As the subject matter expert, provide guidance and recommendations to the Business on capital and liquidity related matters.
  • Support the execution and implementation of regulatory changes/onboarding of new products in the TDS capital calculation process to ensure compliance with all existing rules and upcoming updates in Basel requirements.
  • Provide accurate and thorough capital impact analysis on new capital initiatives; interpret findings, identify issues and propose possible solutions.
  • Apply specialized knowledge and provide advice on the interpretation of pending/new and existing regulatory capital rules to senior management and business lines to optimize returns and manage capital.
  • With the other TDS Capital Reporting senior managers, support the development and implementation of key regulatory projects, ensuring proper adherence to the regulatory rules and timelines.
  • With the other TDS Capital Reporting senior managers, support the changes and updates to the Basel Reporting Services (the calculation engine for capital reporting).
  • Work closely and manage relationships with different stakeholders from several groups i.e. Treasury and Balance Sheet Management, Finance Shared Services, Technology, Accounting, Front Office, Audit etc.

  • Participate in managing the performance of peers.
  • Ensure communication of clear objectives with peers and stakeholders.
  • Provide leadership, direction, advice and guidance to the team, thus maintaining high levels of integrity, motivation and morale and ensure complete and accurate reporting is provided for their segment results for inclusion in the Bank's consolidated reporting. .
  • Initiate actions to further improve your own and the overall team's skills and performance. Continuously look for opportunities for professional development.

The ideal candidate will possess:
  • Sound understanding of wholesale banking products and a good grasp of quantitative data analysis
  • An independent thinker with strong critical-thinking skills and the ability to solve complex issues
  • Self-starter; willingness to take initiatives for continuous learning and development
  • Strong working knowledge of Excel and Access; experience in analyzing large data sets using SQL/Access
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal

Specific Educational Requirements / Accreditations:

• CFA, CPA or FRM designation preferred
