Job Description:

The Customer Service Officer (CSO) provides support to teams of Analysts and Account Managers ("AM") in the CMG segment. A bilingual candidate (French language) is preferred.

The position reports to the Manager, Credit Administration and Reporting.

SHAREHOLDER

Grow Economic Profit (EP) of the Unit - 20%
  • Maximize support for AMs and Analysts in credit administrative matters so that those positions can focus on their other accountabilities such as risk assessment and sales that contribute directly to EP.
  • Actively contribute to the businesses success by asking questions to better establish specific needs of the customers; and referring to the appropriate person/area for follow-up and closing.
  • Provide efficient administrative processing and ensures operational risks are managed effectively to minimize losses.
  • Contribute to continuous process improvement.

Manage Credit and Operational Risk - 45%
  • Provide effective credit administration for the portfolio, both within the Unit and by interfacing with other parts of TDBFG. Role includes direct contact with branches, and customers on credit administrative matters, such as obtaining Financial Statements, rent rolls and Third Party Reports, KYC/Compliance. The position also contacts customers as requested by the AM/Analyst to follow up on items/issues.
  • Obtain/compile all the supporting documentation that the AM/Analyst require for writing credits; follow-up on security to-be ­obtained and Disbursement Conditions (such as Holdbacks and Undertakings); administer credit ratings, etc.
  • Ensure appropriate booking of rates and collection of fees.
  • Minimize risk and maximize cost-effectiveness by adhering to operational standards and procedures and recommending process improvements.
  • Partner with administrative support groups such as the CAS to facilitate their functions such as inputting credits, making payments, finalizing security, funding mortgages etc.
  • Be knowledgeable of and comply with Bank and Industry Codes of Conduct.
  • Ensure all reporting is completed by due date and all tracking is appropriately recorded i.e. Compliance items, CSP updates-TBO's; Undertakings & Holdbacks; Mortgage System reporting; Commercial World (CW) reporting (where applicable).
  • Review Monitoring & Control Manual, Team Meeting "minutes" & Internal Procedures Binder to ensure compliance with all procedural updates.

CUSTOMER

Relationship Management on the Portfolios Supported - 25%
  • Follow best practice service standards.
  • Act as key liaison with back office, product and operational risk areas to champion solutions for the customer.
  • Maximize the role of internal partners such as CAS and minimize overlap, hand offs and issues.
  • Manage interface with customers at an appropriate level.

TEAM

Leadership and People Development - 10%
  • Be an integral part of the Unit by being an effective team player and actively participating in group meetings and initiatives.
  • Take responsibility for own developmental needs.
  • Consistently demonstrate TDBFG Guiding Principles (Be Customer Driven, Respect Each Other, Execute with Excellence, Know Our Business, Enhance our Brand and Increase Shareholder Value).

  • Supports CBC and/or Commercial mortgage side of the business with larger and more complex portfolio and transactions
  • Responsible for various reports on Mortgage System, Commercial World and other Monitoring and Control, Compliance or internal reporting
