Surveillance Technician, Surveillance

We are looking for a full time Surveillance Techician.

Position Summary

The Surveillance Technician is responsible for the installation, repair, and troubleshooting of closed-circuit television network (CCTV) equipment, peripherals, and integrated access control/alarm network equipment. Video and data is transmitted over Category 5+, coaxial (RG-179 equiv.) and fiber structured cabling. This position requires the ability of the individual to work in all types of environments including confined spaces, at heights in excess of 5 meters, in darkness/limited lighting, on motorized person lifts, and in the outdoors (year-round). This position also requires monitoring to ensure the protection of company assets, ensure compliance with gaming regulations and internal controls; and assisting in efforts to maintain adherence to company policies and procedures. Above all else, must embrace and be aligned with Casino Nova Scotia's culture and philosophy of providing outstanding entertainment experiences.

Minimum Qualifications
    •Electronics Engineering Technician Diploma. •Previous CCTV experience, and/or Alarm and Security Technician Certification an asset •Minimum two years related experience •Must meet the licensing requirements of the Nova Scotia Alcohol Gaming Fuel and Tobacco Division (NSAGFTD) •Must be able to complete the Surveillance Operator training •Must supply own safety shoes (CSA Certified, Grade 1, Electric shock resistant) •Proven ability to self-motivate and initiate learning. •CCTV/NTSC video signal experience a strong asset •LAN/Networking using Windows •Computer hardware and software troubleshooting experience an asset •Working knowledge of AutoCad an asset •Must be able to work quickly, under pressure, in a busy environment •Must be positive and professional •Must be willing to be on call •*please note 4 weeks of paid casino Surveillance Operator training is provided for this position

Work Environment Considerations:

Regular office and Casino environment. As a 24 hour operation there may be some non-traditional work hours and schedule flexibility is required. The successful candidate may be required to work a combination of days, nights, weekends and/or holidays.
