What is the opportunity?

This team is dynamic and interfaces with a broad group of stakeholders while working with a variety of technologies including Hadoop and the near future Cloud. The impact of the work is significant as you will be responsible to build reusable components and services to benefit multiple regulatory, compliance, and strategic programs and initiatives across Risk functions. You will report to the Director of Data Governance, Corporate Systems Data Services and will work with IT and Business project team members to design, while modifying and building solutions for consumers within the Enterprise Risk Data Lake.

What will you do?
  • Works closely with members of the development and QA teams to review requirements and implement solutions
  • Articulate and document the technical design of applications to support associated business requirements
  • Hands on coding of applications; responsible for organizing code review and enforcing development best practices
  • Author technical specifications as required
  • Create technical \"system development life cycle artifacts\", as required by projects
  • Works with Senior Manager, Technical Systems Analysts', vendor and other IT teams to design and implement downstream and upstream interfaces to the application
  • Perform change management activities such as source code management, creating activity records for production implementation, creating implementation plans, etc
  • Effectively communicates with project team members, stakeholders and other IT teams such as application development, middleware and infrastructure teams

What do you need to succeed?

  • Ideally 3-4+ years' experience leading projects and developing & implementing applications for business and enterprise
  • Well experienced in development of Java, Scala, Spring & Spring boot based applications
  • Experience building and optimizing big data pipelines, architecture and datasets
  • Strong experience of designing and building multi-threaded/distributed systems using proven design patterns and practices
  • 3-5 years of experience in building and implementing big data systems and computation frameworks (e.g. Hadoop, Hive, RDD, Spark with RDD/Data frames etc.)
  • Strong communication, facilitation and documentation skills; Strong analytical and technical skill set including the ability to transform business logic into technical design and ability to work autonomously

  • Experience with Kafka, messaging systems and other data pipelines
  • Experience working with NoSQL databases or in-memory databases
  • Broad understanding of Capital Markets, Retail, and/or Commercial Banking
  • Understanding of SaS models input/output and integrating them in solutions is a major advantage
