Our Technology Risk Services team in is growing, and we are looking for Senior Managers to join our leadership team based in Halifax, NS. Our Technology Risk Services practice provides a variety of IT risk based services to our clients to help identify and respond to the risks associated with their use of technology. The successful candidate will also bring broad industry experience and perspectives having worked across different industries including Power and Utilities, Energy, and Telecommunications.

What you will do
  • Provide clients with strategic, practical advice on IT risks and controls. This includes developing and executing IT risk control assessment programs, developing remediation plans to address deficiencies, and delivering actionable recommendations to strengthen their IT environments in line with industry best practices.
  • Lead client projects to assess IT general controls and IT application controls, ensuring compliance with NI 52-109 and SOX 404. You will also apply your expertise to evaluate Information Produced by the Entity (IPE) in performing these assessments.
  • Plan, coordinate, and lead project teams. This including reviewing work of others, preparing reports, and overseeing project profitability and risk management processes.
  • Stay current on industry trends, emerging technologies that present IT risk, and regulatory standards (NI 52-109, SOX 404, PCAOB, Canadian audit standards, etc.).
  • Communicate clearly with clients and influencing senior leaders into action with practical insights through reports, presentations and deliverables.
  • Serve as mentor and performance coach for staff, focused on harnessing and growing their potential as future leaders.
  • Support new business growth through coordinated business market development activities, including identification of opportunities, supporting other KPMG teams and promotion of our firm's services.
What you bring to the role
  • Minimum 5 years of relevant experience, ideally within either a large publicly listed organization or with a consulting, advisory or professional services practice.
  • Experience leading IT risk-related projects and engagement including:
    • IT internal audit
    • IT ICFR/SOX assessments and program development, delivery and support
    • Integrated external audits and testing IT controls
    • Large system and transformation projects
  • Bachelors or Master's degree in a relevant field (computer science, business, accounting) and further completion of relevant professional certifications such as CPA, CA, CISA, CISSP, CRISC, CGEIT, CISSP.
  • Experience with people leadership and managing complex projects.
  • Experience assessing risks and controls across different IT environments including SAP, Oracle, Unix, Linux, AS400, Mainframe and other cloud-based systems and their relevant IT layers.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills; able to effectively express insights and influence senior stakeholders.
  • Willingness and ability to travel both within Canada and internationally.
