Job Skills / Requirements

For this position you are required to, but not limited to the following duties.
Monitoring HRM CCTV systems, access control software,intrusion alarms and facilities alarms, record and respond accordingly.
Conduct perimeter security patrols of the building, note any deficiencies and ensure parking compliance.
Monitoring and controlling access to the facility.
Escort couriers and members of the public within the facility.
Facilitating the corporate badge programme (creating photo I.D badges and assigning access levels as appropriate).
Operating gates through the AiPhone system
Maintaining security and visitor logs
Dispatching mobile security to investigate alarms and or suspicious incidents captured on CCTV cameras.
Communicating on a routine basis, particularly after hours with security officers posted at various HRM locations.
Communicating with on duty facilities supervisors, as required
Monitor and answer 311 calls during the overnight hours.
Identifying problems and or emergency security issues to HRM Corporate Security.
Communicating and assisting staff, Halifax Regional Police and or HRM Corporate Security regarding security issues or incidents.
Assisting Corporate Security and the Department of Transportation and Public Works with other duties as requested.

Education Requirements (Any)

High School Diploma/GED
