What you'll create and do


As a Senior Associate, you'll work as part of a team of problem solvers, helping to solve complex business issues from strategy to execution. PwC Professional skills and responsibilities for this management level include but are not limited to:
• Prepare Canadian and US individual income tax returns and highly complex tax returns and calculations including information return, treaty resourcing, foreign tax credit optimization
• Prepare US trust returns, Canadian deemed resident trust returns and US estate and gift tax returns
• Assist with a wide range of cross border consulting engagements
• Review your work and that of others for quality, accuracy and relevance
• Documentation, research and follow-up on client Tax issues
• Researches and interprets tax provisions.
• Use feedback and reflection to develop self awareness, personal strengths and address development areas.
• Delegate to others to provide stretch opportunities and coach to help deliver results.
• Develop new ideas and propose innovative solutions to problems.
• Know how and when to use tools available for a given situation and can explain the reasons for this choice.
• Seek and embrace opportunities which give exposure to different situations, environments and perspectives.
• Use straightforward communication, in a structured way, when influencing and connecting with others.
• Able to read situations and modify behavior to build quality relationships.
• Uphold the firm's code of ethics and business conduct.
• Correspond regularly with individual clients and tax authorities.


What you'll bring to this role


• An interest in upskilling for a digital world and technology trends, an openness to learning new tools and adapting how you work
• A demonstrated commitment to valuing differences and working alongside diverse people and perspectives
• Minimum 2 years of experience specializing in Canadian and/or US personal tax preparation.
• Professional US accounting designation such as the US CPA or Enrolled Agent is considered an asset.
• Strong technical tax knowledge and research capabilities and capacity/willingness to learn
• Desire to work in a fast paced and dynamic team-based environment - working with multidisciplinary tax and advisory teams
• Strong interpersonal and relationship building skills
• Ability to work effectively under pressure and manage multiple assignments
• Strong analytical capability, sound business sense and creative mind
• You have good organizational skills, a positive attitude, and an ability to work effectively under pressure. Excellent verbal and written communication skills are essential
• You are flexible in terms of work schedule, as overtime will be required at certain times of year
