The Product Owner at IFS is responsible for realizing the intended value of product investments.  The Product Owner is the voice of the customer, provides technical thought leadership, and ensures that we deliver the intended value on time, on budget, and with the right quality, resulting in great customer adoption and high customer satisfaction.

As a Product Owner at IFS, you will drive delivery of new product features and functionality. Coordination, sequencing and prioritization within the set scope, as well as ensuring development is on track is part of the day to day job. The Product Owner works with all aspects of the development cycle, from scope definition, design, estimating, planning, scheduling of resources, through to the actual development, testing, quality assurance, delivery to market and ongoing support, focusing on clarity of scope and requirements and delivery of an excellent end user experience.

A successful Product Owner is an evangelist who inspires colleagues, customers and partners both internally and externally. This also includes explaining plans, demonstrating product capabilities and presenting our vision, strategy and roadmap. He or she continuously works to expand domain knowledge, pro-actively shares knowledge and experience, and guides others. Interacting and collaborating effectively across all parts of R&D and the wider organization is a must to succeed.

Note: Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the majority of our team is currently working from home.  The onboarding and training for this role will be done remotely and business travel has been restricted until further notice. 

Responsibilities

• Quickly develop a deep understanding of Clevest’s products and solutions and how these can be applied to address business challenges, setting an example of how to create satisfied clients.
• Plan and prioritize the product backlog
• Lead backlog grooming sessions with scrum teams
• Develop user stories and define acceptance criteria
• Clearly articulate product vision and goals
• Express functional and non-functional product requirements
• Develop UI mockups and prototypes to clearly illustrate intended functionality
• Maintain and adhere to design standards
• Provide guidance and clarification during development sprints
• Work closely with Product Management and customers to analyze end-user needs
• Deliver functional training to professional services team for newly released product features
• Support launches with product marketing, including prototypes and beta programs
• Gather ongoing feedback on both existing and upcoming product capabilities
• Act as a primary product expert and champion for assigned areas of responsibility

Qualifications

• University degree, or equivalent professional qualifications, in a field relevant for the functional area or responsibility.
• Proven experience in prioritizing and making decisions.
• Demonstrates strong skills in presenting, leading and inspiring people.
• Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with a demonstrated ability to communicate to audiences of varying technical aptitude and organizational seniority.
• Experience in the utility (electric, gas, water) or general field service industries is an asset.
• Experience with mobile workforce management solution is an asset.
• Ability to successfully pass applicable security checks, including a criminal record check
