We are seeking an up and coming, energetic and guest focused Human Resources professional who is looking for that next career growth opportunity! This is a somewhat 'grassroots' Advisor position - a blend of administrative duties along with more progressive HR responsibilities. This role would be perfect for a seasoned HR Coordinator ready to take that next step. The Human Resources Advisor reports directly to the Director, Human Resources, and will support various HR functions including recruitment and onboarding, payroll, benefits and team member support and communications. Above all else, the Human Resources Advisor must embrace, be aligned with and help enhance Casino Nova Scotia's culture and philosophy of providing outstanding entertainment experiences.

Key Accountabilities
    •Provides administrative support to the HR department including HRIS updates and maintenance of site HR files and administers other HR processes and programs with a high degree accuracy and efficiency. •Assists in the development, implementation and support of various HR initiatives, including but not limited to policy and procedure launches/revisions, and performance management tracking. •Responsible for site payroll support including response to team member inquiries and time keeping system support to managers and supervisors. •Administers the internal job application process and facilitates the full cycle recruitment process, including responsibility for job postings, preparation of offer letters and onboarding of new team members. •Coordinates recruitment and employer outreach and brand initiatives in consultation with the Director, HR, including advertising and job fairs. •Supports health and safety initiatives and programming. •Coordinates and delivers internal training programs including Cultural Orientation. •Facilitates the GEM Reward and Recognition program at the site. •Ensures compliance with laws and regulations, including but not limited to occupational health and safety, employment standards, human rights and other statutory regulations.


Minimum Qualifications

    •Embraces the Casino Nova Scotia culture and philosophy and has a playful, infectious and "all about the guest" attitude! •Post-secondary education in HR or suitable combination of education and experience. •CHRP or other HR designation an asset. •Ability to exceed internal and external customer expectations through timely, effective and service oriented communication. •Minimum 3 years of experience in Human Resources. •An understanding and demonstration of HR as a strategic business partner. •Confident knowledge of Excel, Word and Microsoft Outlook required, previous experience working with an HRIS preferred. •Kronos experience is an asset. •Must be organized and efficient in managing a workload with multiple priorities and deadlines. •Details, details, details - you love them! •Strong interpersonal skills and ability to guide and support fellow team members. •A confident public speaker - you enjoy the thrill of a great training session!
