As a Balancing Officer for Image Capture & Processing, Centralized Balancing - Cash Services, you will be responsible for completing pre-clearing image capture activities for payment items received from Cash Services Centres across Canada including the investigation and resolution of out of balance client deposits and internal transactions as well as other pre-clearing activities such as the verification and input of payment item amounts and MICR line fields. This role will be responsible for ensuring all individual activities are completed on time as per quality thresholds to minimize the risk of financial loss and negative client impact.Please note shift is 4:30 PM to 9PM What will you do?This role will be responsible for the completion of pre-clearing image capture activities including investigation and resolution of out of balance client deposit and internal transactionsPreparation of client and/or internal adjustments as requiredReview and verification of payment items received through non-client facing channels to ensure appropriate negotiation validations are completed.Dollar amount keying of cheques, PTB envelopes and other payment items as referred by FSS Deposit MonitoringVerification and data entry of magnetic ink character recognition (MICR) lines on cheques and other payment items as referred by FSS Deposit MonitoringReferral of client deposits and/or internal items/batches to the Cash Services Centre of origin for physical balancing and the re-imaging of items as required.Ensures all processing is completed within established time frames and end of day cut off times across multiple time zones in Canada are met to avoid financial loss and negative client impact.Ensure full compliance to all controls, both regulatory and internal, including RBC policies and processes and the Canadian Payments Association (CPA) clearing rules.What do you need to succeed?Must-haveExperience working in a fast-paced operational teamSolid knowledge of all regulatory and internal compliance rulesStrong investigation and problem solving skillsProficient in Microsoft suite of applications ( familiarity with excel is critical too!)
