Department Overview This is a new role to the staff appraisal team where the successful candidate will be evaluating physical damage to insured's vehicles using photo based estimating technique. The appraiser will be responsible of contacting the insured, gathering pictures of vehicle, assessing the damages and completing follow ups to ensure the conclusion of the repair work.
Job Description Evaluates the physical damage to clients' vehicles. Contact clients and gather pictures of damaged vehicles. Completes estimate and negotiates with repair shops on proper repair methods and price for the clients' vehicle/repairs if needed virtually. Controls expenditure to repair shops by following up promptly on further damage reported by the repair shop virtually. Completes appraisals and returns to internal analysts. Prepares a weekly report on completed appraisals for the Team Manager. Assists and co-operates with colleagues during busy periods. Self Dispatch assignments, and assist with dispatching at busy periods. Determines if a vehicle is repairable or should it be deemed a total loss.
Requirements The successful candidate must have: A minimum of 2 years of direct experience either appraising automobile damages through images or working in an automobile body shop. Strong technical knowledge of automobile bodywork and mechanical repairs is a strong requirement. Demonstrate superior interpersonal and communication skills. Experience with TD image desk appraisal workflow, working with Mitchell, guidewire and dashboard systems are required. Have strong client orientation, sound problem solving skills and effective negotiation skills. Excellent organization and time management skills. Solid computer skills and knowledge of Mitchell System. College/University/Technical degree is an asset. Completion of CIP ASE Fraud Awareness and I-Car courses are assets. A valid Quebec's G.A.A. appraisal license is an asset
