Site Description: Halifax Stanfield is Atlantic Canada's principal full-service airport providing passengers and cargo clients with direct access to markets across Canada, the United States, Mexico, the Caribbean Basin, Europe, and Asia. Halifax Stanfield offers Canada Customs services on a 24-hour, seven day a week basis, and it's the only airport in Atlantic Canada with U.S. preclearance and International to Domestic processing facilities. The Airport is a major economic generator, contributing $3.8 billion annually to the provincial economy pre-pandemic. In 2020, Halifax Stanfield served 995,000 passengers and processed nearly 33,000 metric tons of cargo.
Job Description: The Security Operations Centre (SOC) provides Halifax Stanfield Airport with control room capability which supports the activities of the security patrols and fixed posts. Security Operations Centre provides a live link between HIAA Security management, the airport community, and on-site police. The position also dispatches the police and security personnel to incidents, provides emergency and non-emergency support and - as the first-line end-users - oversee the operational use of HIAA's security systems e.g., CCTV, access control and alarms.
Reporting to the Team Lead, a Security Operations Centre Operator is responsible for monitoring and operating the security, communications, and operations systems. In addition, the position has responsibility for event reporting and dispatching.
The schedule and duties of personnel providing the SOC Services may change from time to time because of HIAA's operational requirements.

- Ability to pass a security clearance and hold a RAIC

- Must be at least 19 years of age and have a high school diploma
- A SOC Operator is a proven technical specialist in emergency and non-emergency control room operations
